On My Way to Seattle

It’s almost 1:30AM Pacific Time. I’m on my way to Seattle. Later this afternoon I’ll be meeting with the man who offered me the job mentioned in my last blog entry.

I stopped at my friend Aaron’s house in Portland to spend the night. He shot this photo of me as I was chatting with Belinda on instant messenger:

As I was, he’s a photographer in the porn business. He’s been posting on an adult industry message board that he’s going to convert me back to the porn side.

Been there. Done that. Way past it now!

You’ve been there and done that with Jesus, too. Maybe you ought to try something different, like Zen or Environmentalism.

Wow Donny, I can’t imagine what it must be like to face so much opposition to this decision you’ve made. I think what you’ve decided rocks, and you are so brave to be writing about this publicly!

Wow, didn’t realize you were already working on relocating. I hope you can still see your son moving up there.

Hey Donny… good luck w/ the Seattle thing. This must be such an interesting time for you.

Seems to be lots of people posting here who have lots of input about what you should / shouldn’t do… careful what you listen to. The overwhelming majority of us know exactly zip about what it’s like to be you.

Good luck w/ the journey… seek, and you shall find.

You can do this. But not alone so if you fall, it doesn’t matter, just get right back up.

    Donny-

I heard your podcast with XXX Church awhile back and I was so happy to get the email with the good news about your descision.

Sometimes it will be hard, but keep on working hard. You’re in alot of people’s prayers.

Hi, I am a sports journalist/photographer and have been all of 5 months. I left my very good paying job in health care and I am persuing my dreams. Found your site from Tony’s, don’t know him either, but just wanted to say that I can empathize with your career change struggle a little bit. We are in Kansas and have a great church I wish you could attend. The music would rock your socks off, our pastor is an ex-rodeo bull rider so alot of the sermons are not like anthing you have ever heard before. There are great churches out there, I hope you find one and also get the opportunity to be nearer to your son. As a one time single mom, I appreciate the effort you put in to pay for your sons needs.

    Late,
    tunz
