Status of the Websites, A Quick Note About Money, and the Importance of Email

ABOUT THE WEBSITES:

Several individuals have made comments questioning why the websites I owned for all those years are still online and accepting new members. The answer is very simple, people: I sold them all more than a year ago. I’ve blogged about that in the past. After selling, Belinda and I continued producing the photo and video content for them. Since my departure from producing porn the new owner of the site has simply begun purchasing content from another producer.

MONEY:

I definitely should have managed what I made a little better. I am not a “saver”, that’s for sure. After all, anytime I needed more money I’d pick up the phone and call a model in for the day, lift a camera, and often times be paid by clients on the same day. In total, I made millions from the adult industry, yet managed to spend it all on a lifestyle few will ever experience. Let’s just say I lived very well. I’m 32 years old and always put off “investing” for another day. I knew it was rather reckless but felt I was young enough to “live” for a few more years before becoming financially responsible.

To be honest, I am rather happy that I don’t have to face the moral issue of deciding to keep the money made from porn. I’ll be starting over almost from scratch. I’ll be giving away the majority of my production equipment to Belinda. She has no intentions of ceasing production. I’m not pressuring her to quit, either. Trying to force me to quit never would have worked. The decision has to come from the heart. Belinda will be making a go of it alone and will definitely learn a lot from the experience. Will we someday be reunited as a couple? I don’t know. Time will tell. I’ll definitely educate her on what I believe, but I am not going to force anything on anyone. Not even the woman I’ve spent almost 6 years with.

I may start using adsense on this blog to generate extra income. If they ever choose to activate my account, that is.

    So you found God and decided to give up porn. Great. Porn is pathetic and disgusting, I am glad you have decided to rid it from your life. You have turned to God and are finding comfort in that, good for YOU. I just wonder what you are planning to do to make amends to humanity, women and our community.The ripples of what you have done will be felt for a long while. The pictures of young women that you took are still on web pages.     How about you let him deal with this transition. Humanity is depraved, “making amends” won’t change that. The best thing he can do is leave that world. If he started working with the XXXchurch, that would definitely be helpful, but ONLY when (if) he is ready.

I promise.If you feel so strongly about what you’re writing at least own up to it so that I can call you by name.I’m not going to weep and cry and beg forgiveness of all the models who have posed for me. I am aware of my past actions. And I do plan to do something about it to compensate. I believe telling my story, my FULL story, will help many people to see porn in an entirely different light. I hope to do so in the near future. I think all sides will receive an education, including you and me. Thanks for posting. Please feel free to continue challenging me. I welcome it. I haven’t come up with an “identity” that I find amusing enough or that I want to commit to yet-I’ll let you know it is me when I do (that’s a lot of pressure to come up with a good one!).I do not want you to beg and weep and cry for the models. I would appreciate you speaking some truth about the industry and what it does to women. For years you helped to perpetuate the “porn myth”-hot and horny women that want it all the time, the belief that women exist only for men’s pleasure, etc. Today was my first time reading your blog, and I can’t even remember how I found it-the link from a link, from a link, I think (that sounded much more Dr. Suessish than intended). I realize now that you just recently “jumped the fence” (from porn to non-porn, I don’t want to get any homophobes feathers in a ruffle-although the image of homophobes in feathers is amusing). I imagine that you are still processing and questioning what this all means and where you stand on some of the issues around pornography. I just wanted to plant the seed about the effects porn has on women in porn and in our society.It sometimes creeps me out knowing that I might be sitting on the bus or in a restaurant next to a guy who was just wanking off to porn. Or he is looking at me like he might be saving that image for a later session-ewwwww. But see, porn gave him the idea that doing so is okay, that any woman is fair game for his sexual fantasies-ick.     Yeah, this has been a “conversion” that has happened quite recently. September 25th, 2006 to be exact. Life has been quite a bit different since that time.

    After 9 years of producing porn, perhaps I’ll take the majority of the rest of my life “making amends” as you put it.

    cathie…love that you posted what you thought. i’ve found in the short time i’ve been following donny’s posts (since the day of his conversion, when i first read about him) that he is honest and interested in open dialogue concerning life in general, not just the industry. donny, thanks for realizing that when you put yourself out here like this, you have to expect people to respond in different ways. im amazed that people still don’t get that about blogging. like…’crap, i put my thoughts out there for the world to see, but i didn’t expect people to reply with their own thoughts’. make sense? so thanks for that.
