Donny, I hope you continue to give Christians a chance. We're all broken people who act out our brokenness in all sorts of ways. Some people are so afraid to admit weakness, so afraid of their imperfections, that they feel they constantly have to point out everyone else's weaknesses and imperfections. But the truth is that in our brokenness, God responds, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." So like Paul, I will continue to boast about my own weaknesses, my own journey with Christ, so that not only will God's power work in my life, but moreso that others will see that power and know that Jesus came to bear our brokenness, to heal us and to change us.

I think that if Christians would start being real, if they would talk about their own brokenness and how Jesus has helped them to have joy despite them, we wouldn't be able to keep people out of church! So that's my prayer - that the church wouldn't be afraid to be real.

There's a really awesome book I read last spring about being a real church. Risking Church: Creating a Place Where Your Heart Feels at Home by Jim Jr Kallam. You might want to check it out.

Donny,
I just wanted to leave you a comment to let you know how much your story has touched my life. You are not alone in seeing the things you are seeing in the Church. I believe God is revealing it to keep us humble, to see we are NOT better than those who struggle or dont know God. We are ALL in need of a Savior and are ever in need of grace. I will continue to support your new found freedom in the Lord.

Sounds to me like she is judging you for judging people for being judgmental.
Wait.. Did I just judge her for judging you for judging people for being judgmental?
I'm sorry!

Yeah, I didn't vote in this election. I'm tired of deciding that I want a king along with the rest of the Hebrews like the other countries have. I'm tired of watching little men speak little words that have little to no effect on my day to day.
I know I'm in the minority, so don't take this to mean, "EVERYONE SHOULD STOP VOTING!!!1!!11" I just already know who my ultimate authority is, so the authorities that He puts between him and me mean very little.
