The guy MIGHT be a jerk for all I know. Or, he could be an all right guy trying to wish away what his girlfriend did. I can’t know either way. But I don’t see how it could be assumed that he’s such a terrible guy for not liking the fact that his girlfriend sneaked off to make pornos. That’s some pretty heavy deception.

Which kind of leads into my next observation. A person’s body is not a “product.” Defenders of pornography try to make it sound like they mass produce steak knives or something. You seem to assume that an introspective comment was pointed at you and your closest friends. (Why is that? I say rhetorically).

So young ladies are a “product” yet everyone else is supposed to care about YOUR sensitivities? Hey, you made an “informed” decision when you picked your profeesion, right? You knew you’d draw criticism when you became a porn peddler, so I’ll tell you like you tell your models: LIVE WITH YOUR DECISIONS and quit whining. You have no more right to be liked for what you do than anyone else. If you ever regret your choice of professions, I sure hope you are not treated the way you seem to treat others.

First off it is entirely your choice to quit the industry. I think its great that if its not for you that you are choosing to get out. However it is not correct that someone is selfish because they do make their living as a photographer or site operator in the porn industry. If you are honest with the models, and let them have a realistic understanding of the consequences it is their choice as adults to make if they want to model or not.

Adults have to take self responsibility for their actions. It is insulting to their intelligence to think that because they later regret THEIR fully informed choice, that somehow you took advantage of them. If you, or someone else in the industry had committed fraud against them then yes, I could agree that you or that person was acting selfishly. But if they were given all the facts, then it is treating them like a child to say that they cannot make an adult decision about their actions.

All businesses make a profit off their employees. Capitalism is based off investors taking on risk and hoping to make a profit off the product their employees create. It is the nature of capitalism. As long as everyone in the venture is fully informed and agrees to this then there is no one being exploited.

Think about what you are in effect saying. You are in effect claiming anyone who profits in the adult industry is selfishly profiting by taking advantage somehow of adults who are incapable of making adult decisions and living with the results of those decisions. In effect you are saying both sides are somehow morally or mentally incapable of making fair decisions in life.

To say its not for you is one thing and I respect that, but to make wide sweeping claims about the selfishness of people running adult industry businesses, or the inability of adults to make informed decisions if they want to pose or not is insulting to both groups.

You may want to think about this before judging the people involved in this industry

Yeah, glad Donny reacted in print the same way I reacted in my mind on that one. The day I stop hearing other people’s voices, I might as well just be killed off.

And John…you don’t need to start every post you make with a disclaimer. You’re friends, you’re honest, you don’t care what we think….we get it .

Though I gotta say that if you guys are such good friends (something I’m not disputing, btw), why is this conversation happening over the intertron? Or maybe it’s an extension of an ongoing conversation?
