Closure

Belinda came yesterday with her best friend and took the last few things remaining in the house that belonged to her. Looking back, I can’t think of a better way to part. It was a beautiful afternoon. There was laughter, tears, and some very meaningful dialogue between us.

It’s time to move on.

Tomorrow I hope to write about an experience I had this past weekend that I can honestly say changed my life. I was asked to share my story with a group of men battling sexual addiction. I was able to share with them some of the things that will hopefully help remove the fantasy from porn. Reality isn’t so pretty.

Being able to say good-bye to a relationship is an important part of that grieving process. I never had a chance my first time around; it effected me for years.

You get an A in courage for everything you’re doing here. Keep up the good work.

    Donny,

Reading your post reminds me of a favorite Rascal Flatts song of mine.

When everything worth holding on to is gone, it’s time to move on. God bless your journey man!

I agree with Rick on both counts! :)

And if you get the chance to share online what you shared with that group of men it would be most appreciated. It is as you say, the delusion the fantasy offers that keeps us hooked. Anything that helps smash that is a powerful tool. My struggle has always been as a consumer of the fantasy, I can imagine your position in the industry would bring many valuable insights.

Donny, from what you have shared this weekend – I believe you have handled the end of this relationship with more integrety and love than I have ever seen demonstrated in a break-up!
