Donny's Ramblings

I’ve been telling friends and colleagues that I’m speaking at a Porn and Pancakes event in Illinois this weekend. I’ve also insisted that I’ll be flying home Sunday night.

Neither of those things are true. The Porn and Pancakes event is in Fort Wayne, Indiana. And I’m flying home Saturday night. I was confused.

Confusing Donny really isn’t that hard to do lately. I’ve kept my brain going in a billion different directions. Just this morning, as I was rushing to check in for the flight to Chicago (with connections to Fort Wayne) I left my wallet in my car.

Out in the parking lot.

Far, far away.

Everyone knows a person can’t possibly check in for a flight without ID. I was thankful for all the exercise I’ve been doing lately: it came in handy when sprinting all the way back to my car to get the wallet.

I made it in time.

Barely.

I was the last person on the plane.

Then in Chicago I not only went to the wrong GATE when connecting flights, but to the entirely wrong terminal. Once again, I was amongst the last on the plane, with little time to spare.

There is a positive side to that, however: no waiting to board! Yeah, there’s always a bright side. Let’s just hope that I don’t forget my name tomorrow morning when called to the stage to speak.
