The title....it's a bit on the nose, don't you think?

We have to find you a catchy title, then use that as the subtitle. Let's see....

Pimp at the Cross

(Yeah, strictly speaking, 'pimp' doesn't fit, but you were selling women for money. Granted it was just pictures, but you see what I'm saying? And...it's definitely catchy :))

X-Rated Faith

Living to Offend YOU (Actually, I kinda like that one)

...I dunno. Still thinking.

As for the rest, the only contention of your points is that you're writing them in terms of human time. You're saying that until a certain point, God felt jealous because of, say, Paul's decisions, then a switch flipped and then God approved of them. If God is above Time (and he is), that he knows the end already (and he does), then I don't think our human definition of jealousy fits. If God already knew that Saul would be saved days later, how would jealousy enter in when Saul had someone stoned for the faith before that time? Do you see what I mean?

Hey Donny - I am feeling the pain of writing those papers too (and all that darn research). I am late on one term paper and barely finished by paper for church history.

At any rate, keep up the thinking nd I am glad you're not waisting the great mind God gave you.

In my "budding" study of Greek/Hebrew, (VERY budding!!!!), I'm wondering if the definition of "jealousy" might just be a little more from our current understanding than the true meaning from Scripture. It is beyond me how we can compare our "emotions" to those of Creator God. In our human understanding of jealousy, it's hard to define it very positively because most, if not all, jealousy is terribly damaging. How could Creator God have a "damaging emotion"? Just mabye our understanding of this word is a bit confused.

In II Cor. 11:2 God's "jealousy" is defined as a "strong affection towards, to be ardently devoted to, show of affection and devotion towards." This seems a far cry from being the same "emotion" Donny felt when not getting the desired response from Belinda.

Donny compares God's emotion when we choose to listen to satan's deception. Being solidly His children forever, He does ardently, devotedly, pull us back to His will with a "still, small voice," circumstances, or possibly a stern discipline to get our attention. I can't see Him exhibit our human jealousy.

My dear Donny, we ALL deserve to die, even if we haven't murdered someone's husband or hundreds of the Way followers. Thus is our greatest necessity for the benefits of GRACE! That great love of His was extended to all of us who will Believe, Receive, Rest, Enjoy, and Serve!! (That last sentence was stolen from a wonderful pastor you and I both know!!) If the angels in heaven rejoice over one soul believing, receiving, resting, enjoying, and serving, then you can bet God must be pretty happy about it too! Sounds like a God Who's very jealous - a strong affection and ardently devoted to us. I'll take it!!

That's my two cents. Thanks for listening.
