I would see them on a daily basis. It's amazing the stronghold that they have on the city of Topeka. Literally, they are the freakshow of town. When we had out-of-town guests, I would take them to where the Phelp's gang was picketing just to show our friends how crazy they all are. "Whacked" is putting it mildly! I used to live down the street from the Phelp’s and Westboro Baptist Church. I would see them on a daily basis. It’s amazing the stronghold that they have on the city of Topeka. How very sad. What struck me the most was the absence of any mention of Jesus Christ, the Messiah, Who died and rose again to give us hope for our eternal futures. Where was the Gospel? The last statement made by the daughter was the clincher, she said she HOPES to go to heaven and not hell. Even with all the legalism and "works," there was no assurance of heaven. Tremendously sad indeed. I just watched this video and want to cry with grief! How very sad.
