Hi Donny,

I gave some more thought to your reply. As always, it's hard to see let alone question one's biases. ..

Therefore, I am curious now: Can you point to an article authored by something of the status of AP that d undertook an equally determined effort to fact check Obama's convention appearance?

I know, I know, there are those who have turned reviews into indiscriminetly partisan attacks (and the AP article above is certainly guilty of that), and there are the "fringe" writers or pundits whose mind is made up before the fact anyhow. But show me an article like the one above reviewing, say, Obama's legislative experience (I know, that would be a pretty short article, but where is it), his voting record (that is quite extremist compared to most of his senatorial colleagues to say the least), corrupt political and religious connections, etc.

By comparison to this single article along, the media has unleashed a regular Obama love fest. Paradoxically, he has received the most thorough vetting from the likes of the Clintons and the guy who sold out his convictions in the hopes of becoming VP.

But maybe I am just too biased for my own good. So perhaps you can providea link or two where media of "real stature" tries to do to Obama what they did to McCain/Palin.

There is no doubt that Ms. Palin is lacking in the experience area. But in this of all races, that has obviously not stopped the same people who are now making a big deal out of experience from nominating someone whose experience level is pretty much in the same ballpark with hers.

I wish I'll be in McCain's shape by the time I get to be his age. But you're right, he's pushing the odds. With Obama we'll know for sure that regardless of what actuarial tables or CDC say, we'll start out with someone who can talk really well...and that's about it.

In a perfect world, perhaps we would have more choices. But this is it... Well, at least the McCain ticket got one thing right over the Obama ticket: Give the training wheels to the second in charge and let them serve under the Prez, instead of having the experienced guy (of the big and bad Washington establishment, no less) provide on-the-job training for his clueless and inexperienced boss.

TES,

Did you know that both sides accuse the media of favoring the other side? I read conservative as well as liberal publications. Conservatives say the media is liberally biased. Liberals say the media is conservatively biased.

The truth is that overall it's pretty balanced. But when we take one side over another, when we read the side that favors our views we simply agree with it and move on. When some publication goes against what we think, we pay a lot of attention to it and it sticks out in our mind.

The facts of the matter are this:

20 months ago, Sara Palin was the part-time mayor of a town of 7,000 people.

^^^ This gives me hope for my son's mother! She's been a resident of a similar sized town her entire life. Should she run for office, I'm sure she can get enough people to vote for her to elect her Mayor! After a few years as part-time mayor, who knows where her future could lead! Perhaps to, say, the Vice President of the United States? And if she was lucky enough to run with the oldest man ever elected President (IF he is elected), and he died, she'd be the leader of the most powerful country in the world! YES!!

Another note: Last year, 2007, was the year Sara Palin received her first Passport... she has been outside the country ONCE (to visit Alaskan troops in Iraq).

A few more notes of interest:

Sara Palin is currently the Governor of a state who's population is HALF THE SIZE of Sacramento county. Now, I haven't paid attention to what part of Washington you reside in, but I'll bet you can find a city within driving distance that has a larger population than Sara Palin's entire state. Would you like to see the mayor of that city as the Commander in Chief of this country?

Sara Palin received her education, a Bachelor's degree in communications-journalism, from the University of Idaho.

The Center for Disease Control puts the national average life expectancy for men at 77 years. McCain is 72. He has a much higher than average chance of dying during his term, if elected. And Sara Palin would become our commander in Chief, expected to lead us, not only here in our country, but in the world economy as well.

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a Commander in Chief that has a little more in the way of qualifications.
