I Finally Figured Out Why I Like Barack Obama

Since I was a young child I’ve collected comic books. I have thousands of them, and buy more every month. Although I read them when I was younger, each new comic I purchase now is stored unopened and sealed so that it will be in the best condition possible to pass along to my son. Although I collect several different titles, Spiderman is probably my favorite series.

Today I found out our new President also collects Spiderman comics. Click here to read Barack Obama: The 50 Facts You Might Not Know.

Amazing Spiderman #300 - Origin and First Appearance of Venom

A few other things from that list that I have in common with President Obama:

  • He’s left handed
  • He speaks Spanish
  • He’s a Mac user!

That last one is a deal clincher!  :)

¿Hablas español? Deberias escribir un blog en español. Y exigir que todos respondan en español. :)

Spiderman is my favorite super hero. I have Spiderman walkie talkies that I lend to my daughter to play with now. Yes, “lend”. They’re still mine. ;)

thats todd mcfarlane art. i used to collect in the late 80’s and was a follower of “the punisher” and most especially the batman series at that time. i also dabbled with “the sandman” by DC comics. it was really macabre and dark. i loved batman graphic novels as well back then. i used to draw alot and that was the main reason i liked comics, i learned alot art-wise from them.

    then i grew up donny:)

j/k actually a friend of mine talked me into letting him have my whole collection to sell to someone? i cant remember the exact reasonings but i ended up never seeing my collection again. i had alot of 1st issues too. sucked

oh heck yeah, i was just thinking about the punisher limited series, issue 5-6 where wolverine guest starred and this is dating back to like 88 or 89. i absolutely loved that series. and graphic novels such as “dark knight returns” “killing joke” “batman:the cult” “arkham asylum” and “digital justice” were all super good. that whole era is when comics and batman especially, took more of a darker, mature turn. i think it made things a whole lot more interesting. and i think the newest batman flick with heath ledger was a faithful representation of that era in its starkness. thats awesome dude!

im sorry, it was punisher war journal that featured wolverine in issues 5-6. i do remember the limited series and how pricey it was then. that cover art of the punisher backed into the alley wall, guns blazing, is iconic. i used to try to draw the punisher and dude thats when my artwork got a whole lot more serious and i got pretty darn good at that time. it was pivotal for me!

its funny donny is all infatuated with the guy but when you listen to christian radio, they are all acting like a kicked in ant-pile. ants running everywhere, sirens going off! lol

there is alot of damaging legislation this guy is capable of passing.

    FOCA
reversal of DOMA, which clinton signed
    ENDA
FAIRNESS DOCTRINE, which says you must show opposing view on your show

Don’t see anything wrong with bringing back the Fairness Doctrine. After all, it was the law of the land for almost 40 years (late 40s-late 80s). Simply put, it allows for equal time on the PUBLIC’S AIRWAVES — yes, the radio spectrum in the U.S. is owned by the people — when partisan political view are aired. Of course, it may put a crimp in the truly vast wasteland of talk radio (TV doesn’t have anything on AM radio wasteland-wise), but then again it’s not like that mix of lies and evil has ever been in the public interest.

And, by the way, this discussion is to a certain extent moot, as, if you look up the Fairness Doctrine in the Wikipedia, you’ll see that Barack Obama does not support reimposing it. So you’re contributing to the (false) sirens here.

noone in their right mind is going to have a radio show on abortion and then turn around and pay for the opposing view to be aired in the same episode. thats not going to happen and it shouldnt be required, mainly because it puts a kink in your right to free speech. if the opposing side wants a spot, then let them get their own radio show. and it should be up to us if we choose to educate ourselves on both sides of the issues, not the government coming in to regulate how i get my views. you dont see this on television so why do it on radio?

and as far as what obama “says” on his website, well he just appointed a new head of the FCC who happens to support the fairness doctrine or some type of it. so if the head of the FCC wants to implement it, guess what, it requires no vote in either the senate or the house. it just goes into effect.

its definitely something to think about and watch.
