"That girl curled in a ball in a corner sucking her thumb on a porn set, mind blown from what she had to experience… I don’t know what to say about stuff like that."

Wow. That blows me away. Why is the media so silent on how hurtful porn is to the women involved in it?

Donny,

Great post.

I was on an airplane ride recently where I was dealing with a woman whose moral m.o. was "if it doesn't hurt anybody else, it must be okay." It took awhile, but after much resistance she finally came to realize that simply by virtue of being in relationships with other people (regardless of the kind), it is impossible to do anything that doesn't have ramifications on countless other people.

I think it just evidences why "Love thy neighbor the way you love yourself" is the 2nd half of what sums up the Old Testament's teaching - we can't ever really act independent of others, no matter how much we might tell ourselves we can. Everything we do impacts countless other lives, whether it be with our wallets, our mouthes, our keyboards, or some other part of our lives, including our bodies.

Personally, I think it should be criminal for a politician to say that he is going to use the powers of government to steal from one group to give to another, since it is like a bank robber being hailed a hero if he gives half of the proceeds of his theivery to the poor under the guise of "wealth redistribution."

And then the middle class wonder why the rich protect their money more, and this puts them out of work. Ah, these must be our saviors who rob on our behalf, eh?

Its also why it seems to me a sign of pure evil that America has in this last election proven a ready willingness to sell its soul and freedoms so the government might become its weapon in robbing the vaults of the rich - and why the country is now suffering because the rich are doing what everyone would expect - hoarding their money. The cost of "taxing the rich" is that the rich don't spend their money, and so more companies have fewer funds to use to pay their workers, and so unemployment skyrockets and the poor suffer because they tried to rob the rich rather than motivating the rich to spend their funds on worthwhile ventures.

Porn steals from the many women to benefit a few men and women, while taxing the rich steals from the many among the poor and middle class and only benefits the special interests and the rich who know how to avoid paying those taxes. Both are justified by one means of another, but both are merely the legitimization of what should be criminal behavior - because a crime is what harms society as a whole.

It is impossible for me to see one positive benefit from porn, unlike anything Ron Jeremy might proclaim.

Praise God, He's provided the "out" and redemption from this particular vicious circle of evil, as well as the entirety of the "wages of sin."

Praise God, He's using you, dear Donny, to testify to His provision for us as fallen humankind to be reconciled to Him. We have so much for which to be thankful this time of year and always.
