> The main downside to this YouVersion app is that a connection
> to the Internet is required in order to use it, as it loads content
> from YouVersion’s server.

Hi, I've been using the youversion app for a fair long while now and am able to use it offline, without an internet connection. Many entire translations are downloadable for continuous offline use. Some translations which would normally need to be licensed, such as the New King James Version (NKJV) or the New Century Version (NCV), have been licensed for you and are downloadable for free.

I've been using youversion for quite a while and I can't remember a time when I could only use it online.

Donny,

I very randomly stumbled across your blog (I'm a fellow Dooce reader, and followed a link from your comment about her bathroom remodel), and was so thrilled to read your story. I work with a small organization that deals with sex trafficking on a daily basis, and we're always talking about a lot of the ideas that you've discussed in your blog. About how while it might not be the same thing as trafficking, the sex industry is not harmless. Thank you for being willing to open up and talk about those very issues. The passion God has given you for this stuff is so important and so needed. It's all connected!

Donny,

I am pleased that you have found the Olive Tree Bible software for the iPhone so to your liking. I was certain that you would. It is an app that I use several times daily and thoroughly enjoy the interface, the functionality, the ease-of-use, the speed, etc.

Before moving to an iPhone 3G, I used an HP iPAQ 2785 Pocket PC. With this, I used QuickVerse Platinum. It was $69.95. The Olive Tree Bible application is superior to QuickVerse Platinum in every way, in my opinon!
