Re: Porn Sites I Owned
I’ve had several people inquire why the sites I used to own still exist. Here’s one example:
“Donny, are you reformed or not? Why are your other domains still up? Are you still getting income from them? Even if you aren’t, it really undermines your credibility to have that stuff out there still. You’re still a pornographer even if you’re not producing new content.”
The answer is simple:
I sold all of my pay sites in November of 2005 (10 months before I surrendered my life to God). While I continued to produce content for the new owner as part of the purchase agreement, all porn production stopped when I surrendered my life to God. Those sites still remain online and the company that owns them has Belinda (my ex-fiancée) and another content provider shooting for them. I’ve been told there are pages that use both my fake name and real name to promote their content. I assure you, I have nothing to do with them but I cannot legally do anything about it because what they say is true: I did produce content for those sites. But again, I haven’t had anything to do with producing for them since 2006.
I owned several websites, and most of them were branded with the name I used when in the adult industry (which is very similar to my real name, actually). After getting out of the porn business, I once tried to buy back the main site that still has my name/fake name on it so that I could shut it down. The company that purchased it from me agreed to sell it back for $400,000. I don’t have that kind of money anymore, so the network remains online. I have no doubts they’ll continue to use my name to market it, especially since I’ve been speaking and appearing on TV shows. Common sense tells you that some people who hear me are going to go look for the work I used to do. The company that owns my former network knows this, and will undoubtedly make it as easy as possible to find. It’s out of my hands, and there’s nothing I can do about it.
